Good news. I hope your recovery is a piece of cake. Question for you

IIRC, you've had one/two surgeries prior to this one? Was there any change in anesthesia compared to your other surgeries?

I recently had major abdominal surgery. Prior to surgery, they gave me 1000 mg Tylenol (to reduce pain and the amount of anesthesia during surgery), a Celebrex (arthritis medication to reduce pain) and one other medication. My recovery has been pretty good regarding pain medication. When I came home, my Rx was 1000 mg Tylenol every six hours. I could take a Percocet if needed for break through pain. I took one or two total over the first couple of days I was home and that was it.

With prior surgeries, Rx was six/eight/day (I think) and I tapered off after a week or so. I feel my recovery has gone better because I didn't take all those narcotics.

Did they discuss anything like this prior to your surgery? I realize you have a chronic pain condition which is different than my situation.
