Bought an entry level telescope - Celestron Inspire 90AZ
Tips for improving the performance?
Found this on a message board:
" Synta Optical, who produces these kits, equips them with a rather curious ball-shaped diagonal. The diagonal supplied is a 90° Amici, or erect-image, prism. Such is really only suitable for use during daytime/terrestrial observations, and when the overall optical quality is not as important. For astronomical use, at night, a star-diagonal is preferred and recommended, and for the ideal observing experience"
That's pretty much my observation too. There was no moon out, and all of the stars looked the samelittle white dots in the sky. Had a good view during the day, but night viewing is limited. (Wish the moon had been up so I could see it.)
Ordered a Celestron star-diagonal, which should arrive today.
Next upgrade would be lenses. Any recommendations for "cost effective" ones?
Any other recommendations?
TIA
