I remember seeing a project where someone installed a tablet into their dash and hooked it up to a mini PC similar to this:

Have a feeling that not only can you offer games for the kids, but also supply onboard navigation (with a GPS add-on), and monitor the automobile's functions through the OBD II port.

Basically take an older automobile and bring it's onboard capabilities up to recent (pre-intelligent car) tech standards.
