They've been outside of DC for 3½ seasons, and those seasons haven't

encompassed a long time frame. Lilith looks like she's, what 2 years old now? The second Alexandria season (the mega-herd and Glenn under a dumpster) covered just a few days. Last season only covered a few weeks to a couple of months. This current half-season (war with the Saviors) hasn't taken more than a couple or few days. I don't think, in the timeline of the story, that they've been in Alexandria but for maybe a year and a half, if that. Heck, Maggie's been pregnant with Glenn's kid for over two seasons and she's not even sportin' a bump.
