Doubt they can manufacture ammunition for their crew-served weapons

There aren't bullet molds for rounds that large...at least not unless they've built new molds, and mullet-boy doesn't seem smart enough to develop ammunition. Guessing there is plenty of bullet molds for typical hunting ammunition, but .50 cal is much larger.

If mullet boy is the smartest guy in the Saviors camp, they are definitely in bad shape.
