Give me some opinions on leather as a couch seating surface?

Presume that this is a couch that will get a lot of use in a family room, not a display item for a never used "Formal Living Room".

Likely to be a recliner, also likely to have a dog on it with some frequency.

I've never had a leather seat/couch in the home. Do they get too hot? Stick if you're wearing shorts and sitting in it? Mostly looking to see if those of you who have had leather seating at home like it and would definitely recommend it.

As for durability, I presume that's going to depend almost entirely on the quality of the manufacturing and the quality of the leather, so feel free to comment on that if you want, but that's not my focus.
