If anything kills off the self-driving car concept, it will be lawsuits.

Today if you get in a wreck, the only person you can sue is the driver of the other vehicle. Kinda puts a cap on how much you can sue for. Also explains why ambulance-chasing lawyers want to know if you have been injured in a wreck with a commercial vehicle...don't really care if you were injured in a wreck with a soccer mom. No deep pockets to sue.

But with a self-driving car, there is now a multi-billion dollar company at fault for every car wreck. Cha-CHING!
