"Unusual but legal..." Maybe, maybe not...


My take on what was written is that it sounds like the motorcyclist, who was lane splitting, attempted to move into the space the car had vacated before it was fully vacated. Thus when the lane change was aborted, the car hit the motorcycle.

But the data will win out in this case. If the car crossed fully into the other lane then crossed back into its original lane, the guy on the motorcycle will win. If the car was not fully out of the lane when the motorcycle moved in, then GM will win.
