really a societal problem. Read an article about the Sandusky thing where the guy talks about growing up in the area, he grew up with Sandusky's, there's a city named Sandusky etc. you better be real careful about what you say about stuff....

Being a kid and thinking well, that's the way it is, life isn't always fun. we had some strange grown-ups in our neighborhood but hey, they were grown-ups, I'll understand when I get there.

Well many years later I realize a lot of them were dick-heads. And, in case you think I'm only telling one side of the story, one kid took a gun and held their parents hostage complete with the police and stuff. I was already at VT at the time. But it would have been impossible for me to go to my parents and say Mr Smith is a dick-head. even if they agreed with you they had to some degree hold up the parental order, kids can't go around and call people dick-heads. I just can see this situation here, this kind of greater good to have this great organization that produces top gymnasts. you're going to mess with that? Do it at your peril.

Years later there was a neighborhood party, I actually talked to the guy who held his parents hostage, a lot of water over the dam by that time, kinda funny in a way, "Hey, how's it going" etc. Probably the last time I saw him but I was thinking. Good. good for you, no longer a kid myself but someone hit back and yeah, it will always be the kid that that was the problem - see how that works? but some of us know that ain't necessarily so.
