So XFL is coming back. What rule changes would you like to see?


Imagine you are in the planning room for the XFL re-launch. You are part of the committee whose job it is to come up with a ruleset that keeps all of the awesome things about football, and gets rid of all the suck. What would you change?

1. Get rid of kickers. Instead of goal posts you can kick through, put a small ring at the back of the endzone. Throw the ball through the hoop and get 2 points. For PAT's, you have a choice of running your offense from the 1 (for 1 point), 3 (for 2 points), or 10 (3 points) yard line.

2. Use a rugby scrum instead of a coin toss. They tried the mad-dash for the football before, and someone got hurt. So let the jumbos get in there and push each other around until the ball squirts out.

3. I'd have to seriously brainstorm ways to simply allow both holding and pass interference. Bugs me that so much of the game rides on ref judgement calls when those infractions happen on just about every play anyway.
