Agree, no one borrows money specifically to invest in the stock market (OK, maybe some day traders who like to leverage themselves up their eyeballs do, but Joe America sure doesn't).

But people do borrow money to buy a house or a car. And ultra-low interest rates on those purchases could, in theory, free up some cash for investing.

But if we are being practical about it, low interest rates means people just buy a bigger/nicer house. They don't buy the same house they would have bought with a lower rate and invest the difference.
