The friend thing is ever evolving.


I have my BFF from Tech and we have a nice group of close friends who'll gather in the Burg for a football game every few years. We're three hours apart. Sometimes we vacation together. Mr Thankful likes her husband and our children can enjoy each other for a few days so this makes things one million times easier. I have a BFF from kindergarten. We enjoy the same relationship as the Tech friend for similar reasons.

I have good neighborhood friends. It's mostly the ladies doing HHs together but sometimes we'll do dinner parties, pool/swim team parties, snow parties where husbands and/or children are involved. I give these relationships a 5% chance of lasting a lifetime when we move away.

Mr Thankful can sit out by the fire pit w bourbon, the dog and/or me and be happy forever. I need more socialization. We'll move after the children finish college. I don't look forward to starting new friendships/figuring out who I want to spend non-family time with.
