Strange flight 'issues' yesterday.


I'm at the gate waiting for a flight leaving Newark Airport. The gate sign, and a phone update, tell me that the flight will now be 30 minutes delayed due to "Maintenance".

About 5 minutes later....another update....60 minute delay.

About 7 minutes later....another update....almost a 2 hour delay.

About 10 minutes later.....another update.....On schedule. We left right on time.

HUH? How did all that happen in about 20 minutes?
