I think my next bed will be a firm coil box spring nothing high end but

I’ll add a comfortable mattress topper of some sort. They have a few different types & thickness’s. You could possibly split up the types between you & your wife’s. Some people are more hot natured than others. Then you can replace the mattress topper down the road without a major investment & feel like you have a new bed.
