Some of that oiling relies on rotation to cover the wear surface


Higher performing race engines have an interlock that prevents ignition until oil pressure reaches a threshold.

Our normal engines will come up to a cold idle that is higher than normal to bring the oil up to temp and make it more viscous.

All in all they aren't meant to last forever and there is some wear that simply cannot be prevented.
