My uneducated theory. The 35 years of running have gotten you in excellent


cardio and lung shape, and the rower isn't hitting those areas, especially done indoors in A/C, etc.

But it is getting muscles that you don't use as much or as hard when you're running, and I'd also bet that it's maintaining your cardio and lung capacity fitness.
