Here's a discussion about towing with an Odyssey

I've towed up to the limit a number of times with our 2001, 2002 and 2003. The brakes are fine.

The big deal is the following:

1.) Idiots who pull in front of you, then pile on the brakes when the light turns red. You won't be at fault when you hit them, but it is still going to suck.

2.) Going down steep grades, especially with crosswinds. Even low-profile boats and campers can get really squirrely. You can stop, but it is highly uncomfortable.

Since both of the above have happened to me last summer (I did avoid the rear-end collision, only barely), I'm shopping for brakes for my boat trailer. With full tanks, camping gear, etc., it's over 3,000 pounds.

That said, there are some great threads with some excellent information well beyond what I've experienced. Towing isn't just about the hitch and the payload. There's spring rates, shocks, cooling (tranny and PSF), weight distribution...all important.
