I want England to win, but


I'm debating on whether I think it's better that they finish 1st or 2nd in that group. Second place would see them play Columbia in the round of 16, which is a tougher draw than Japan. But if they beat Columbia, they would face either Sweden or the Swiss in the round of 8, which would be an easier draw than their round of 8 opponent would be on the other side of the bracket (probably Brazil).

If they finish 2nd, I think it gives them the best chance of reaching the semifinals. But it also gives them a greater chance of going out in the round of 16.
