No, I mean having people buy stuff like canned goods, drop 'em off...


in the front of the store, have the store take all these odd assortments of food - usually cheap crap: mac and cheese - somewhere to be distributed. Someone in there has to sort them out somewhere along the line: beans, beef stew collard greens so you've created all this manual labor along the way instead of just writing a check to a food delivery services for X beans, X beef stew, X collard greens that don't need to be sorted.

maybe there's an efficiency there, I dunno, the trucks are empty going back to the distribution center and can be used to move this food dropping it off at charity Z? Again, writing a check for exactly what they need is better but if they have free labor to do the sorting it is what it is.
