If a food bank gets a check they have to go out and purchase the food


receiving the food directly saves them a step. regardless, they are going to have to sort it, whether too put on shelves for people to come in and "shop" or to put into specific "food baskets" to be picked up or delivered.

I do see your point about the store taking credit for the donation, but the ones I know that have done this have not taken credit, going out of their way to thank their customers when making the delivery to the food bank.
