My oldest son got his car rear-ended yesterday. Yes, another son involved in a car accident; fortunately my oldest son is fine. Problem is that the woman at fault doesn't have insurance. My son's car is a 20 year old Toyota Camry (165k miles) that Kbb says its worth between $1,000 - $2500. My son has uninsured driver insurance on his policy with a $200 deductible, but they say it will be counted as a claim, though not "at fault". The woman who's at fault totaled her car and rear-ended a truck that actually hit my son's car so she's caused damage all over and I'm sure she can't pay, especially if she won't even pay for insurance. Below is a picture of the damage to the car. Some of the left light is damaged obviously so can't really drive it legally. Suggestions? I suspect it will cost a fair amount to fix the damage, buy maybe just get it fixed enough for the lights to work? Any advice appreciated.
