When any new "study" comes out on a topic as complex as nutrition
At the very least need to ask who funded and conducted the study.
We love to think of science as a completely neutral, unbiased, quest for pure facts. But the reality is most science is only as good as the assumptions that are made either going into the study, or the assumptions made while analyzing the data from the study. And those assumptions are made by humans, which are inherently incapable of being unbiased.
So eat donuts. Or steak. Or whatever makes you happy AND gets you to a fitness level you want. Whatever you choose to eat, there is a study somewhere that will back you up.
