Nah, I think the Big 10+ is a great home for Nebraska long-term.

The near-term problems Nebraska is having in football aren't a function of the conference they're now in, but rather other poor program decisions and management.

The article also mentions academics from the 90s, which is a misinformed comment. The academic standards in question were already changed by the Big XII (favoring JuCo athletes over Partial Qualifiers, which was to the benefit of the Kansas/Oklahoma/Texas schools in the Big XII days). The Big 10+ was already limiting PQs just like the Big XII, so no change there and no academic advantage for the football program of moving back to the Big XII. It's also highly debatable that JuCo is a better direction for the athlete or the school than the Partial Qualifier route. I know Tom Osborne wrote about what he felt were the advantages for both the student and the school to having the student enrolled as a PQ by being able to provide a stable environment and academic support to the student. The student also still had sit out a year to meet performance requirements before being eligible, at which point he would have 3 years of eligibility, with a 4th year granted if he was 75% of the way to a degree after the 3 years were exhausted.
