"ACC Bowl Ties, Affiliations
Notre Dame is eligible for any ACC bowl tie-in as long as it’s within one game of the team eligible for the slot.

Again, normally the top available ACC team goes to the Orange Bowl, but there’s no direct tie-in this year since it’s a College Football Playoff semifinal."

This season are the NYD6 bowl games

Cotton Bowl - Playoff Semi-final Game
Orange Bowl - Playoff Semi-final Game
CFA Peach Bowl - At-large vs. At-large
Fiesta Bowl - At-large vs. At-large
Rose Bowl - Big Ten vs. Pac-12
Sugar Bowl - Big XII vs. SEC

It is possible the ACC Champion could be selected to play in either the CFA Peach Bowl or Fiesta Bowl (if not selected for the Playoff). However, there is no guarantee that the Playoff Committee has to select the ACC Champion as an at-large team.
