Auto-qualifiers is a junk method in today’s landscape


and only serves to backdoor lesser deserving teams.

I’d rather evaluate 12-13 games of a team instead of just 8-10. Also, the divisional setup leads to some 8-4 type teams one win away from the playoffs in an auto qualifier setup.

Not a huge playoff guy but limiting 4 teams at least makes a team perform over a complete season and not rely on auto-bids. Also, it creates some good bowls/matchups outside the playoffs but media/fans have rendered them much more meaningless with most everything centered on playoff talk.
