Out of curiosity, why Paris?

Granted, it is a stunningly beautiful city. But it is full of Parisians.

And does your wife understand that there is an extremely high set of standards for women in that city? You are expected to be impeccably dressed, have perfect makeup, and overall look the absolute best you possibly can at all times you are in public. If throwing on a pair of sweatpants to make a quick trip to the grocery store is something she would ever think is OK, then Paris is going to be a tough adjustment.

I found Paris an amazing city to visit, but can't imagine living there (but in fairness, I couldn't imagine living in NY either). The cities and towns across the French countryside struck me as far more interesting places to live.
