I cannot believe has not been explored/exposed more by the press to date. The President essentially overruled the former AD on what was essentially a recommendation to conform to best practices and what that implies on so many different levels regarding management, oversight, etc.. You couple that with the totally inept management of the situation post collapse and it is mindboggling that the President, AD and Coach were not all terminated sooner rather than later. Kid collapses in late May and in the intervening two months(until the ESPN story comes out late July) very little in the way of investigation, response, communication, leadership, etc. appears to have taken place. It is like they were all sticking their head in the sand hoping it would go away or, more likely, not wanting to open the closet door where all their skeletons were hidden.
