Definitely call the company and ask them to log a formal complaint....


from you. Also record the date and time yourself and report the incident to your homeowner's insurance agent. If there is damage that appears within a few weeks or months, you have a record that you warned the company of where not to go and they did anyway - the very definition of negligence. This gives you more leverage to get them to pay for repairs if the complaint is immediately after the incident and is on record. You could even end up getting a brand new system out of the whole thing.

Also, save the text from the foreman since he is admitting they strayed into an area that they were not supposed to be.
