"A Day that will live in Infamy!" ................................
Seventy-seven years ago, on December 7, 1941, 2,403 service members and civilians lost their lives in a surprise military attack by Japan against the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Throwing the United States into World War II, this singular action would culminate in the surrender of Japan aboard the USS Missouri four years later.
Freedom is not free, and the sacrifice of those who died defending it on December 7, 1941, and throughout World War II are a constant reminder of this. According to Veterans Affairs statistics, we lose 372 veterans a day from the “Greatest Generation." We must honor all who fought in defense of freedom, and we should resolve to give thanks for their sacrifice this and every day.
May God bless their memory and may He continue to bless the United States of America. [Post edited by F4EHokie at 12/07/2018 08:46AM]
