It's been a while since I've said my goodbyes but I hear ya.
I think my last Sears style purchase was my Kenmore refrigerator, probably the last time I had a sales person attend to me showing me all the options then handling all the paperwork etc. How long have I had that, 10-15 years now? (and I expect another 15 years) And always felt more comfortable w/DieHard batteries, bought tires and have them mounted there and of course, Craftmen's tools, look at them like something you got for Christmas.
On a side note, no Sears, but Performance Bikes closed down a lot of stores including ours recently. Bought one of my bikes at the one up in Montgomery Co MD. (Funny b/c the stores that sold me three of my my bikes are closed now, tough business I guess. I even checked up on one in San Francisco recently, I was going to send them an email that I'm still riding the bike I bought from them in 2006, they were an institution out there but closed a few years ago) PB was no Sears, but useful for shoes, helmets, accessories etc. really a discount place that Amazon was going to wipe out, but one of the casualties of 2018 that I had found useful.
