There is an older mall in Richmond (Regency Square) that was once very
successful up until the mid-late 90's. It has gone through a slow decline since with all of the anchors except Penney's leaving. A local real estate group bought the mall a few years ago and is turning into what they call a lifestyle center. Basically they want to attract indoor skydiving, trampoline and bounce houses, indoor putt-putt, etc. In other words the type of stuff people cannot do on their I-Phones. With those activity based businesses they can add breweries, fancy coffee places, gluten-free Panera Bread type dining.
