They didn't get anywhere near as good of a deal as we did.


I suspect Amazon wanted to come here all along, but when NY offered them $3 billion to come there, they decided to build half of it there. But I guess they were on the fence enough that it wasn't worth the headache.

Maybe we could've gotten away not offering any subsidies, but $22k per job over 15 years isn't bad when those jobs pay $150k. I'm usually really skeptical of this kind of thing, and I don't want us giving any money to the Redskins, but this seems like a pretty good deal for us. Especially if we now get more jobs (and the subsidy we pay for jokes beyond the first 25,000 is lower).
