I picked my nephew up one time and I was unfamiliar with the car line

this was a new invention since I was in grade school. I did exactly what you suggest, parked my car and walked over to get him and the parking lady yelled at me to get in the car line. So I did. Then I got yelled at again for exiting the line incorrectly. Apparently I was supposed to sit there and wait for the cars in front of me to load up with kids. That was the only time I picked my nephew up.
