I noticed on a trip to Europe a couple years ago
that something in me has changed.
25 years ago, I did a backpack trip around Europe. No cell phones, no internet. All we had was paper maps and train schedules to get around. Never had one issue, never got lost, never missed a connection.
But when I returned in my 40's, all I had was my work phone...which had text and calling service, but no data service. Without a live, interactive, GPS-driven map at my disposal, I had no clue how to get anywhere. It took awhile, but I went from thinking GPS were silly to being dependent on them.
