UConn contract with Big East prevents joining P5 in football.


It spells it out in Section 1b to apply until they actually enter the Big East. Then once entered, they have a $30 million exit fee. The interesting thing about the exit fee is that it goes down over time, once after 6 years, and then again after 10 years.

So UConn is effectively off the table for any P5 Conference. The ACC can cross them off of any list we may have. We wouldn't want the football without basketball anyway. It would really only be the Big XII that would consider that.
