I think this may be forward thinking for UConn.

20 years from now, it certainly won’t be about football for UConn. Even in the ACC.

Heck, it may not even be about football for VT in 20 years. There will be a declining number of quality high school football players and the traditional powers will get them all. In just ten years there will be far fewer bowl games. There will just not be enough TV viewers to justify the money due to declining quality of play.

As basketball grows to fill the void of fan interest, the Big East will be a great home for UConn’s non-football sports. Even if it doesn’t feel like it now.
