I was just citing my source. It is entirely possible the guy that told me it was technology available to us today simply meant we wouldn't have to invent any new materials, coatings, adhesives or manufacturing methods to build a solar sail spacecraft. Still would be A LOT of technical challenges to figure out.

Off the top of my head, the origami required to fold a 1 sq-km piece of fabric then deploy it in space without it tangling or ripping would not be a trivial matter.
