Don't overthink it


8th graders don't need customization. Most Chromebooks under $350 have 4 MB Ram. That's enough. A few have a slightly larger screen, an inch maybe. We just bought our 9th grader a Samsung Chromebook, replacing her old, hand-me-down Asus laptop. It was $300, with the standard set up. It works just fine, she says. Most of her classmates have a different model, slightly cheaper, about $250 at BB. Everyone seems OK.
