The Marines will put recruits through a remedial PT class...

...during boot camp. They will be pulled from their class, put into the remedial section, then will be put into whatever class is coming through next once they can do the required PT.

A good friend of mine did that, and he looked like a new mad the next time I saw him. Looked chiseled out of granite.
