My neighbors kid was a "Private Pyle Fat body". He was going nowhere...

A liar, lazy, etc.... One day he had some sort of come to Jesus moment in his head and went and joined the Army. He didn't say a word to his mom or dad. Just did it and told then later. 1.5 years later the kid is a totally different man and I mean man. Yes sir, no sir, physically cut, excited about his life and future "actually doing something". He has been #1 in several training categories per his father and on track to meet the initial application requirements for the Green Berets in the near future.

I'd say knock off the Private Pile stuff and congratulate the guys. College isn't for everyone and the Armed Forces can turn around the "right" unmotivated kids fast. Maybe these guys fit that bill. Either way they aren't sitting around the house or on the street doing nothing.
