True story for the evening crowd - not a backstory.

This is really sad but also, while my involvement in this story is not what's important, it just demonstrates my luck and my knack for timing.

I have 2 girls in Elementary school. We walk to the busstop every day. Our busstop fills half of the bus, so there are a ton of kids. Last year and this year, there is this boy who runs around the busstop playing tag and all kinds of games. He runs into the neighbors yard, will sometimes run into the road, will hide and trample the neighbors plants. The neighbor has made comments to the parents to please control the kids. So the parents do their best, but some of the kids are not accompanied by parents.

One of them being this boy. I used to see his parents all the time, but haven't too often the last couple of years. So the other parents and I try to remind him to stop running in their yard and road but none of us wants to be the enforcer as i loathe to do that sort of thing to someone else's kid.

Finally yesterday, he was so active that he accidentally ran over a kid at the busstop. He is just so much energy and not really listening to anyone. So, as much as i hated it, I sent the boys mom a message saying along the lines of "hey, we just want him to be safe, is there anything we can do to help". She had a great response and said thank you for looking out for him and she said she absolutely needs to know if he acts out like this and that she would take care of it.

Today, he was calm as can be at the busstop.

Today, was also the day that the mom let some of the parents know that his dad has brain cancer that has returned and he will be undergoing chemotherapy again and he has less than a year most likely. The boy knows his dad is sick but does not know he is dying. His mom asked that we not say anything to him. He has been acting out a little at home as a result.

And i just went and tattled on him yesterday after keeping my mouth shut for a year, i pick yesterday to tattle.
