Step up and organize play dates for the kid. Ask about appointments where they might need someone to watch him. And yeah, keep a special eye on him at the bus stop, but with a heavy dose of kindness.

You and the other parents have the opportunity to help a really shirty situation. I know many neighborhoods aren’t tight knit but it sounds like yours might be — or at least leans that direction.
