as easy in their own division. They have an 81% winning record vs the Browns and Bengals. Two of the three AFC teams with the 'best' winning % against the Pats are in their own division.

The Pats missed the playoffs that year because Brady wasn't QB.

Again. There are no numbers that support the argument. The reason those other teams aren't going to the playoffs is that the Pats are. The only team in the entire AFC that's remotely close to .500 vs them is the Broncos. Pitt is 25%, BLT 27.3%, and Indy 27.3% vs them in that time. The Jets and Dolphins have a better win % vs NE than any of those three.
