Yeah, you have to lift weights and eat right to avoid catabolism. Running


at a steady state, your body looks to adapt by reducing mass, most notably muscle. An additional, weight lifting stimulus coupled with optimal muscle building / repairing nutrition will clearly help prevent catabolism.

I'm mostly being an arsehole for a reaction, we all have various fitness/athletic goals and I think a marathon is a great fitness goal for a lot of people. It will never be a goal of mine, because I think it does more harm than good.

Then again, I'm battling elbow tendonitis because of weight lifting. Most people would suggest, stop pressing so much, I say, no, my goal is to grow and get stronger. Different strokes for different folks and all but I'll continue to play that holier than thou Lounge card!
