Yep, ball valves are a must.


I can't even begin to count the number of commercial buildings I've worked in that either A) have no isolation valves at all, or B) have gate valves that don't work. It's fun shutting off the water to a multi-story building to install one new fixture....all after-hours work, and then you have to access every tenant space to bleed the air off after you refill the system.
