My 18 year old is the same


She drove some neighborhood and surface streets when she got her permit but didn't seem to be getting much better and eventually just seemed to have no further interest. Says she would if she had a car of her own but I'm not getting her one and she has other things she'd rather do with her money. To get around she either rides a bike or hitches rides and she doesn't seem to mind. I'm sure at some point things will change and she'll take an interest but I can't see a reason to push it.
