My nephews are 19 and 21 (maybe 20 and 22...I'd have to check) and don't
have a license yet. It seems VERY weird to me, but it's just not a priority with them. And we live in an area with so so public transportation.
But if you think about the cost of a car for a under 25 year old male. $150 a month or more for insurance. Figure a used car and you're still talking about $150 a month there. Add gas, maintenance, registration, etc. and you've got another $100. So that's $400 a month, going cheap. That can get you a fair number of uber rides, or "chip in for some gas" with your friends.
