Not bad for a rebuilding year

Overall I think this year's theme will be getting the most from under-recruited prospects (125, 133, 157, 174) + 165 and 184. Borst was also a highly valued recruit, but he seems around #16 at 285. We'll have some good duals and a few making runs at the NCAAT, but not holding out for a high team tournament finish.

Andonian and Brady have potential but definitely need the red-shirt this year for health and experience.

125 - we could be higher than I anticipated with wins over ISU, tOSU, and the split with NWU. It was a good draw at CKLV, but I'd now put Joey above NCSU and penciled in #2 in the ACC.

133 - getting more than we originally thought, but that seems like it might be in the 20-25 range.

141 - similar to last year. As others say needs leg attacks in the mix. He won't be able to overpower the top 15 guys.

149 - Brent had a pretty bad neck injury last year (I don't know the details, but it sounded like he was home in a brace for many months) - perhaps his return to the starting lineup is a tremendous feat in itself. If he's able to return to the starting lineup and pickoff a few big wins that might be something we should be grateful for. He's always had a good attitude and hopefully improves the stamina and few areas of technique for March.

157 - definitely getting a good bargain from BC, hope he stays healthy and puts some big wins together.

165 - our blue chipper. On a good day can beat everyone... by a lot (see last year in R12 against Taylor Lujan for proof). Hope he stays healthy and is firing on all cylinders for March.

174 - making the most of his opportunity. wasn't a blue chipper but still has expectations to qualify.

184 - blue chipper living up to expectations. Comparing CKLV matches he'll be a big underdog vs Zahid, a slight underdog against Trent Hidlay, then could/should beat everyone else on a good day but it's a narrow margin.

197 - don't know much here. heard he has a lot of heart and fight and is making the most of his opportunity.

285 - highly recruited so expectations may be higher than he finishes. Borst was a natural 195 in HS and his redshirt year. That also includes high national level freestyle tournaments (if my memory serves correct it was just Jake Warner that he couldn't beat). I wouldn't be surprised if he either drops to 197 or bulks a bit more and becomes an AA the next two years, but is more likely in R16-24 this year. Seeing his style when he was a 197 I liked him better there where he could use more speed and throws.
