Good Points
You extend that to 20 years and the numbers show an even larger gap. You have the SEC with 14, ACC with 13, Big East with 7, Big 10 and Big 12 with 3 each and the PAC 12 with 1 and either the SEC or ACC slated to pick up another one in a little less than two weeks. The lone PAC 12 championship was the shared 2003 football title with LSU. Competitively it is easy to see the PAC 12 has been largely dead for the past 20 years and despite the decided revenue advantage the Big 10 has has not translated that to a corresponding level of performance in the actual championships. Considering money and championships the SEC and ACC are clearly delivering the most bang for the buck and it is really not even close between those 2 and the other 3 current Power 5 conferences. The now defunct BE actually doubled up the Big 10 and Big 12, largely on the strength of hoops. It will be interesting to take a look back in another 10 or 15 or 20 years, if I am lucky enough to be around, to see how the landscape might have shifted again with all the network TV money.
