I like the area! been to Floydfest (burned out on it now but) eight of the last nine years, just up 8 on the other side of 81, completed the New River trail on my bike last year, rented a kayak at Claytor Lake, kayaked up to Boone and back, (kidding) plenty of hiking around there, if nothing else a stroll at Pandapous pond, but of course, Cascades/Barney's Wall, the aforementioned sports extravaganza since I don't really have any pro teams these days, played and was runner-up in a USTA tennis tournament at the BB tennis center (for $10 you can be a member of the Blacksburg tennis association, I even have the shirt!) and may do that again this year as sort of a anchor for another trip, heck, even Bike Virginia went through there a couple years ago and I like the food: Cellars and Cabo's and another place there on Main street that don't bite you in the arse on price, easy living.

It's really nothing to do with nostalgia or anything, it's certainly not the place I went to school anymore - you know that - I guess I just know where things are and its easy to arrange stuff to do that I like.
